Arrival and Welcome at the Base
When you land in St. Thomas, our team meets you with cold drinks at the Waypoints base in historic Frenchtown, just outside Charlotte Amalie.
While you settle in with a welcome cocktail, we take care of paperwork, confirm charter details, and answer questions before you think to ask them.
If you arrive the evening before your charter begins, you can stay aboard or at the marina. This gives you time to get comfortable with your floating home for the week and allows for a more relaxed departure the following day.

Every yacht in our Caribbean fleet goes through a full 48-hour turnaround. This timeframe allows us to ensure nothing gets overlooked.
Fresh linens and towels go into every cabin. The interior receives a deep clean that goes well beyond surface-level attention. We change watermaker filters, check AC systems, inspect engines, and refuel and inflate the dinghy. Inventory gets confirmed down to the number of plates, cups, and pots in the galley, and we make sure there’s propane for the grill.

Your First Day on the Water
With your briefing complete and the systems explained, you’re ready to depart. Most charters cast off around midday, giving you the afternoon to ease into island time.
Your first anchorage might be Honeymoon Beach on Water Island, Christmas Cove, or a North Shore beach on St. John, depending on your departure time. If you’re looking for nightlife and dining options, mooring at Caneel Bay puts you a short dinghy ride from all the Cruz Bay attractions.
You’ll drop anchor, take your first swim in water so clear you can see straight to the bottom, and settle into the rhythm that will define your week: mornings exploring, afternoons relaxing, evenings watching the sun drop into the Caribbean.
Planning Your Week in the U.S. Virgin Islands

Day 2 brings a sail around Pillsbury Sound. Multiple North Shore beaches in the National Park offer excellent exploration opportunities: Hawksnest Beach, Trunk Bay, Maho Bay, and Francis Bay Beach all work well for day stops or overnight stays.
Day 3 lets you spoil your crew with a day or night at Lovango Beach Club. Off the north side of St. John lie Lovango and Congo Cays. On Lovango Cay, you can reserve a private mooring, then decide if you want a day pass to lounge around the pool with drinks and food, or make dinner reservations to dine under the stars.
Day 4 focuses on snorkeling. Around the corner from Francis Bay, in the narrows between Tortola and St. John, lies Leinster Bay—a National Park gem. With Waterlemon Cay and the reef along the shore, the snorkeling here pleases even experienced snorkelers. This spot works for day stops or overnight stays.
Day 5 takes you to the southeast side of St. John. Coral Bay offers a unique harbor that often gets overlooked, with excellent snorkeling opportunities in the mangroves. The National Park has provided day moorings here. You can anchor out and either venture into town or stop by the Lime Out, a floating taco bar.
Day 6 involves a sail out to the south side of St. John and tacking back into one of the south side anchorages. Turtles and fish greet you at any of the national park mooring fields. Salt Pond, Lameshur Bay, or Little Lameshur consistently deliver. Wind down your day with a meal on board and an evening of stargazing. The seclusion of these bays and the lack of light pollution make for a spectacular night’s sky.
Day 7 begins with sailing downwind to Magen’s Bay on the north sound of St. Thomas. This huge beach and protected anchorage—one of the most photographed beaches in the world—makes an excellent stop for your second-to-last night. After enjoying another good sail around the West End, head back toward the base for your last night. You can choose to explore Brewer’s Bay, Lindbergh Bay, or Honeymoon Beach.
Day 8 brings a quick stop at a marina for fuel before returning to our base in Frenchtown.
