How to Get to the Waypoints BVI Yacht Charter Base

Terrance B. Lettsome International Airport (EIS) – Tortola, BVI

Cyril E. King International Airport (STT) – St Thomas, USVI

Waypoints BVI is located at Nanny Cay Marina on Tortola. We are situated on the south side of the island about 3 miles west of the capital, Road Town.

There are two ways to get to the Waypoints BVI charter base: You can choose to fly into St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands and catch a short ferry to the island of Tortola. Or, you can fly directly to Tortola, BVI and take a taxi to Nanny Cay marina.

If coming from the USVI, public ferry services depart from the Charlotte Amalie Harbor (a short 15-minute taxi ride from the airport on St. Thomas).

Island Time BVI and Chillout Charters are private water taxi options that are located in Nanny Cay Marina. These providers will meet you at the airport in St Thomas with a taxi and take you to Red Hook to board the private water taxi across to our base.

Private charter flights are also available from any of these Caribbean connections through Fly BVI air charter service. Once you arrive on Tortola by either ferry or flight, you’ll need to take a taxi to our offices at Nanny Cay which we will be happy to arrange.

If you need any advice with regards to travel arrangements, please do not hesitate to contact our office at 443-225-4355.

Keep in mind that on public or private water taxi services you will need to clear Customs in the BVI upon arrival.

Weather Forecasting

We recommend Weather Underground or Windfinder for weather forecasts. The weather year-round in the BVI is very close to perfect, but brief showers do occur and thunderstorms are quite rare. The sun, of course, shines all year round! For swimming, snorkeling, and diving, the sea is warm throughout the year. From December to April the sea temperature is around 78 °F and 84 °F from May to November.

Transportation throughout our islands is frequently provided by small aircraft and ferries. The aircrafts have limited luggage capacity, therefore, you should only pack what is necessary. Please remember to bring your camera, swimsuit, walking shoes, sandals, T-shirts, a light rain jacket, hat, a small backpack, sunglasses, and sunscreen.
