BVI Yacht Charters

Why Fall Is Your Best Bet for USVI and BVI Yacht Charters

Listen up, sailing enthusiasts. Johnny Nash may have sung, “I can see clearly now the rain is gone…”, but when it comes to yacht charters, we’re singing a different tune:

“I can sail clearly now the storm is gone!”

That’s right. As soon as the Caribbean hurricane season slows down in October, you’ll find the bright skies and great weather welcoming in the prime time for yacht charters.

With an eye toward opening our bases in mid-October, you’ve got a golden opportunity to experience the best of the area, including a combination of both the USVI and BVI island groups.

Take it from us – don’t just stick to one! This fall, you can easily hop between the USVI and BVI for an unforgettable Caribbean adventure. Now’s the time to lock in your charter, the top boats, and the best dates for the upcoming season.

Why November in the Caribbean Is Calling Your Name

We’re not going to sit here and tell you that the winter isn’t a great time to sail in the Caribbean.

What we will say is that it’s far from the only time… and it may not even be the best time. For many of our team here at Waypoints Yacht Charters, November is the sweet spot for Caribbean yacht charters, and here’s why:

  • Perfect sailing weather without the crowds
  • Steady winds
  • Warm water without excessive heat
  • High-performance yacht availability

Plus, here’s a kicker – you’ll likely find lower rates and you won’t be fighting for anchorages. It’s like having VIP access to the islands.

Local festivals kick off around this time, too (sign us up for the Crucian Coconut Festival!), so you’ll get a real taste of island life without the tourist crush.

Make The Most Of Your Charter With A Combined USVI and BVI Itinerary

While we’re fans of both USVI yacht charters and BVI yacht charters, this time of year presents an opportunity to take advantage of both.

Below, we’re presenting two sample itineraries to help jumpstart your fall planning. The first one takes you from the USVI toward the BVI, and the second starts in the BVI then heads to the USVI.

Using The USVI Base AS Your Launchpad

Our USVI base is your gateway to both the American and British Virgin Islands.

You’re positioned for easy access to some of the Caribbean’s best spots right from day one.

7-Day USVI to BVI Itinerary

  1. St. Thomas to St. John – Kick things off with a quick sail to Caneel Bay. Check out the old sugar plantation – it’s like stepping back in time.
  2. St. John to Jost Van Dyke – Cross into BVI waters and hit White Bay. The Soggy Dollar Bar’s Painkiller is legendary for a reason.
  3. Jost Van Dyke to Norman Island – This uninhabited island might be “Treasure Island” in real life. Snorkel the caves and pretend you’re hunting for buried gold.
  4. Norman Island to Peter Island – Peter Island’s beaches are postcard-perfect. Treat yourself to dinner at Oceans Seven – the food’s as good as the view.
  5. Peter Island to Virgin Gorda – The Baths aren’t just rocks and water – it’s nature’s obstacle course. Bring your camera.
  6. Virgin Gorda to Anegada – This flat coral island is a change of pace. The lobster dinners on the beach are worth the trip alone!
  7. Anegada to Tortola – Wrap it up at Nanny Cay Marina. You’ll be plotting your return before you even dock.

7-Day BVI to USVI Itinerary

On the BVI side, Nanny Cay Marina on Tortola is a sailor’s playground with everything you need to kick off your BVI yacht charter in style.

Our team there knows every trick in the book to get you out on the water fast and fully prepped.

  1. Tortola to Cooper Island – Start easy with a hop to this eco-friendly spot. The Beach Club’s sunset drinks are a must.
  2. Cooper Island to Virgin Gorda – Check out the rebuilt Bitter End Yacht Club. It’s like the phoenix of sailing resorts.
  3. Virgin Gorda to Anegada – Snorkel the Anegada Reef. It’s like swimming in an aquarium, but better.
  4. Anegada to Guana Island – Monkey Point isn’t just a clever name. The snorkeling here is off the charts.
  5. Guana Island to Jost Van Dyke – Hike to the Bubbly Pool. It’s nature’s jacuzzi, and it’s way cooler than it sounds.
  6. Jost Van Dyke to St. John – Back in US waters, explore St. John’s beaches. They’re national park quality for a reason.
  7. St. John to St. Thomas – Finish up with some duty-free shopping in Charlotte Amalie. Because why not?

Book Early, Thank Yourself (And Us) Later

Getting in early for Fall 2024 isn’t just about being organized. It’s about setting yourself up for the best possible trip by locking in the weekends and the yachts you deserve.

Prime Weeks, Prime Experiences

Turkey dinner with a side of Caribbean sunset? That’s a holiday upgrade if we ever saw one. Even if you can’t come by a 25-pound bird, we’re sure you can find a few seafood dishes to substitute.

Early birds get the best selection of our wide range of yachts. We’re talking:

  • Catamarans – Stable, spacious, perfect for groups
