With dozens of unspoiled islands and cays, beautiful white sand beaches, bountiful marine life, and unique, relaxed island culture, the British Virgin Islands are perfect for your next cruising adventure. Our Charter Concierge can work with you to develop an itinerary based on your goals and desires. Below is a sample to get you inspired for your next charter vacation!
Set sail to Norman Island for your first night aboard. Hook a mooring ball, lower the dinghy in the water, and begin the exploration of this hidden treasure of an island. Stop at the Caves for a spectacular snorkel then make your way over to the Pirates Bight, a family-oriented beach bar, for lunch and enjoy a frozen drink to cool you off. Next, head back to your boat and take advantage of all the water toys you have onboard your luxury boat.
Enjoy a leisurely breakfast on the boat then get the day started right with a snorkel at The Indians – an amazing rock formation of corals and sponges that can be found on the ledges and steep walls that rise to the surface. After your snorkel, sail to the wreck of the Rhone just off of Salt Island for a morning dive or snorkel. After your morning exercise, tack back up the Sir Francis Drake Channel and head to Cooper Island! Grab your overnight mooring ball first thing as the balls are limited. Swim over to Cistern Point for more snorkeling or simply relax on the beach by the bar at the Cooper Island Beach Club.
Get an early start and make your way over to the Baths. Grab a National Parks Mooring and dinghy into the beach. Note: you can no longer take your dinghy onto the beach as it’s been roped off. You will have to swim in. Make sure to pack a dry bag to keep your camera and other items dry.
Plan to spend the whole day making your way through the tunnels, caves, and crystal-clear water pools through the maze of massive borders. Make your way over to Devil’s Bay beach for a swim then hike up to the top of the Baths to grab lunch and see the most amazing 360° views of the BVIs. Hike back down to the beach and head back to your boat. Make your way over to Leverick Bay for the night. Grab a mooring ball or make reservations for a space on the dock. This marina has it all: freshwater, ice, fuel, showers, laundry facilities, spa, shopping, Wi-Fi, and food aplenty.
Days 4 & 5
Experience an exhilarating sail to Anegada, a low-lying coral island, and keep an eye out for dolphins and whales along the way. Once you arrive, make your way to your favorite restaurant to make reservations for your Lobster dinner then head off to one of the secluded beaches like Loblolly Bay or our favorite, Cow Wreck Beach. Spend an extra day here in Anegada and enjoy the breaches. Rent a scooter, hunt for the pink flamingos, grab your snorkel gear, or even try Bonefishing.
Continue west, downwind, towards Jost Van Dyke. This will most likely be your longest sail, so break it up with a late morning stop at Monkey Point, Guana Island. The snorkeling is amazing here with so many types of fish to view. Yellowtail snappers, grunts, jacks, turtles, and large tarpon. However, the best show is the Pelicans diving down into the water to catch their meals. Enjoy a quick lunch, then continue onto Great Harbor on Jost Van Dyke, home to Foxy’s. Pick up an overnight mooring here, then make your way in to see Foxy. Foxy is well known for live music and a great BBQ on the beach.
Enjoy a nice breakfast aboard your boat then make your way over to the Soggy Dollar in White Bay for a world-famous Painkiller. Enjoy the day at the beach, eat lunch at the Soggy Dollar and then head to Peter Island, Great Harbor. Great Harbor is perfect for your last night as it is quiet, picturesque, and only a one hour sail back to the BVI base in the morning. There is a small bar and restaurant on the shore called Oceans Seven offering delicious and simple local food.
After breakfast, you have time to squeeze in one more snorkel (no diving before flying). Great Harbor has beautiful reefs and colorful tropical fish.
