We are excited to announce the addition of Mickey Lalor to the Cruise Annapolis team as our Charter Fleet Service Manager. Mickey joins us with a wealth of knowledge accumulated from his 26-year career in the United States Coast Guard as a Response Operations and Boat Forces Specialist. During his career, he spent over 17 years stationed in different regions of the Gulf Coast, including a post as Commanding Officer at South Padre Island on the Texas-Mexico border. During this time he conducted both boat operations, law enforcement, and search and rescue missions. Having recently retired from the military, he and his wife and children have settled in the Annapolis area.
Mickey grew up in Florida, on the ICW, sailing with his father on a Hobie Cat, Sunfish, and Catalina. While working on power boats in the Coast Guard, he continued sailing as a hobby with friends in Annapolis for small races. His whole family also enjoys cruising on the Chesapeake Bay when able, and even plan to take a catamaran trip off Waikiki Beach in Honolulu, Hawaii later this month.
When asked about his desire to continue working on the water, Mickey emphasized his “love for interacting with the maritime community”. He gained his 100ton Captains License in 2002, and always planned to utilize it in some capacity after Coast Guard retirement. With his new position at Cruise Annapolis, he will ultimately be responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of a growing charter fleet. He looks forward to the interaction with charter clients and their guests, to ensure they enjoy their time and maybe learn a little seamanship from him. Hopefully, they become return charterers or even new owners of their own yacht.
Welcome to the team, Mickey!
