ABOUT THE BASE
The Hut at 222 Severn Avenue sits in Eastport, Annapolis’s maritime neighborhood, separated from downtown by a drawbridge and a sensibility. It’s a working waterfront with a genuine sailing culture, and our docks look out over the Severn River toward the Naval Academy and the city beyond. Downtown Annapolis, with its cobblestone streets, restaurants, and 18th-century architecture, is a short walk or a quick dinghy ride away.
Stop into The Hut when you arrive. Our team will get you checked in, walk you through the boat, and have you underway in time to make the most of your first day.
What’s Waiting For You At The Waypoints Annapolis Base
- Air-conditioned bathrooms and showers with hot water (located at the 222 Severn Building — access code available from your Waypoints Yacht Charters Specialist or dock hand)

ARRIVING IN ANNAPOLIS
Option #1 – By Air
The closest airport is Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport (BWI), well-served by most major carriers with plentiful ground transportation options. Your Waypoints Yacht Charters Specialist can assist with transfer arrangements.
Option #2 - By Car
Annapolis is easily reachable from across the Mid-Atlantic:
From New Jersey / Pennsylvania: I-95 South to Baltimore → I-695 East toward Glen Burnie → I-97 South toward Annapolis → Route 50 East, then follow directions below
From Washington, DC: Route 50 East, then follow directions below
From Delaware / Maryland Eastern Shore: Route 50/301 West across the Bay Bridge, then follow directions below
From Route 50: Exit onto Aris T. Allan Blvd, keep left through the Chinquapin Round Road light (the road becomes Forest Drive). Stay left, turn onto Hilltop Lane, continue through the lights at Spa Road and Primrose Road, then left at Bay Ridge Road. Follow straight to Sixth Street (Royal Farms on the left), turn right onto Severn Ave, and follow down to the left into our parking area. We’re located near the water in The Hut, in front of Pier 3.
