Meet ASA Sailing Instructor, Captain Chris Munson! Captain Chris joins us with expertise in the Chesapeake Bay area and a wealth of knowledge from his illustrious sailing career. Learn something new or brush up on your skills— now is the perfect time to enroll in our ASA Sailing Courses!
Chris Munson is an American Sailing Association Instructor, rated to teach ASA courses 201 – Basic Keelboat, 203 – Basic Coastal Cruising, 204 – Bareboat Cruising and 214 – Cruising Catamaran. He is an active sailor with 30 years’ experience cruising by sail on the Chesapeake Bay. He is a licensed Coast Guard Captain and provides a hands-on experience that connects his students with the boat, the wind, and the Bay. Chris brings his knowledge and sailing skills on board for a fun, interactive and informative experience whether you are learning to sail or taking your skills to a higher level.

Since moving to Annapolis in 2014 he has been active in community affairs. His community involvement includes being a docent for the Thomas Point Shoal Lighthouse, Watermark Colonial Annapolis and Naval Academy Tour Guide, & Shipboard Narrator, Chesapeake Harbour Community volunteer, Eastport Yacht Club Member (participating on Environmental and Building and Grounds Committees), and volunteer for Sailing Heals and Leukemia & Lymphoma Society Regatta.
