"Smart" Antennas
Q. What makes a GPS antenna
"smart"?
A. A complete GPS receiver packaged inside
of it!
"Smart" Antenna packages are
designed to transmit position information to
another device--like a computer, radar, or
plotter. All contain a standard GPS
receiver/antenna combination; some even include
a differential beacon receiver (DGPS) packaged
in the same small, weatherproof enclosure.
